All corporates want for Christmas is Value

It seems the recession is far from over in the corporate
sector, as asset management firm F&C has taken the decision
to host its annual Christmas affair at Chinese chain restaurant Ping
Pong.

Ditching its long-held booking at London high-end hotel The Dorchester, a firm’s spokesperson
told London
newspaper CityAM
“It’s the people who make the
party”.

Ping Pong’s sales executive, Kate Patient, says the
chain has certainly seen an increase in large corporate Christmas parties this
year: “I would find it
hard to say whether this was down to companies going for less expensive options
or simply the fact that we have proactively gone to companies to sell our
restaurants as venues for the party season.”

Dorchester’s head of communications,
Rosanna Crawley, says the hotel prides itself on having long-term
relationships with its clients and understands that some regular
bookings might need to skip a year to adjust to the climate. “While we can’t
comment on individual private bookings, we are confident these few pieces of
lost business will return next year, and for the years to come,” she adds.
