£3.5m new centre for Aberdeen

A dedicated conference facility for the North-east of Scotland has
opened in the grounds of country house hotel, Norwood Hall.

The £3.5million development
includes seven conference rooms, seating up to 200 theatre-style, a board room
seating for 22, and two smaller rooms for break-out sessions.

The centre, endorsed by Aberdeen Convention Bureau
(ACB), has already attracted new bookings, both from the local business
community and the international conference and meetings
market.

ACB’s manager Jacky Selway says: “It’s a quality
development in a great location, a
tranquil setting yet close to the city centre, and with the capacity to hold
large residential events in addition to smaller-scale meetings.

“I am sure it will prove to be very popular,” she
adds.

GM at Norwood Hall, Iris Rillaerts, says the
opening of the centre was a milestone in the expansion of the hotel and its
offering to clients. “We have always attracted a high level of conferences and meetings to the hotel and the new conference centre means we can offer more choice and flexibility to
our customers.”
