International UK and Ireland Chapter is to host a London-based corporate event
coinciding with the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference (COP 15) to discuss the
event’s effects to the industry.
Organised by MPI’s
corporate social responsibility sub-committee, the event will take place on 11
December at London’s Barbican and is to discuss the impact
and opportunities of the COP 15 summit on the meetings industry, and the growth
of CSR within the event industry.

Chapter, president elect, and MD of Organise This, Fiona Pelham says: “In 2008,
MPI was the first organisation to implement BS8901, for the sustainable
management of an event, during their European Conference. This same management
system will be used by the COP 15 summit in what is likely to be the most
significant CSR-focused event for years to come, attended by a host of world

15 will be a turning point in the world’s attitude to CSR. “This lunch will
provide the perfect forum to analyse the outcomes of the summit and plan for the
future,” she adds.
