DMG goes digital

Exhibition
and conference organiser DMG World Media is throwing its hat into the digital
arena with the formation of the Digital Marketing Board of Governors.

Former CEO
of Aegis Media North America, Sarah Fay, will chair the newly-formed board,
which has been tasked to find how best to use DMG’s conferences and exhibitions
for the interactive media industry. DMG conferences include the IMedia Summit,
the CMO Summit, and Ad:tech.

DMG’s
senior vice president of interactive, Susan MacDermid, said: “Our industry
events are more than just gathering spots for the growing number of interactive
media professionals around the world, they are places where these people learn,
cultivate business and actually do deals, making them an essential part of the
overall digital media ecosystem.”

Fay said
she is confident she can move the DMG events to a whole new level in servicing
the digital marketplace. “DMG has a fantastic opportunity to organise and align
its key events, and become an even more important resource to the marketing
industry.”

Others
appointed to the board include representatives from Coca-Cola, Sony Pictures,
Hewlett Packard, Google and Facebook.
