New CB chief for Liverpool

The Mersey
Partnership (TMP) has officially confirmed Carol O’Reilly as manager of its Liverpool
Convention Bureau (LCB).

O’Reilly played an
instrumental role in helping to set-up the bureau and had been acting manager.
She will now fulfil the role on a permanent basis.

She previously
held the roles of Director of Visitor Services and Head of Business Tourism
during 12 years with Marketing Birmingham and says she is “extremely excited
about the future of Liverpool Convention Bureau and building on its success. My
primary role is to develop a world-class Convention Bureau, focusing on
attracting more conference business to the Liverpool City Region – and I am
thrilled to make Liverpool my new home”.

Liverpool is
ranked 86th of top conference destinations in the world by ICCA
(International Congress and Convention Association), a jump of 44 places – and
for the first time placing it in the Top 100 conference destinations.
