Cisco’s virtual event saves 90%

Ticked as the largest event for the virtual
meetings industry, Cisco System’s Global Sales Experience (GSX) ran 24 hours a
day for four days recently.

Designed to ‘educate, entertain and
motivate’19,000 of the IT giant’s employees ‘attended’ the customised virtual
event created by InXpo, with an estimated cost saving of 90 per cent over a
physical event.

“We have
always known that continuously increasing travel costs and related
inconveniences, combined with rapidly improving social media technologies, would
make the adoption of virtual events a force of nature rather than a question,”
says CEO of InXpo, Malcolm Lotzof. “Cisco Systems has made the InXpo Virtual
Event platform a core part of our virtual event strategy based on its
functionality, scalability and ability to deliver both small and complex
events.”

According to
virtualedge.org, attendees came from 89 countries spanning 24 time zones, and
the environment was opened two weeks in advance so participants could
familiarise themselves it.

Employees had
access to three contact centres, which offered real-time support and technical
monitoring.
