Following months of discussion, industry
trade associations the Meetings Industry Association (MIA) and Meeting
Professionals International (MPI) have announced they are to collaborate to
promote a wider adoption of the MIA’s accreditation scheme, AIM.
AIM (Accredited in Meetings) was a long
time in gestation and offers assurance that a venue or supplier operates within
stringent quality, customer service and Best Practice criteria.
The scheme is already endorsed by
VisitBritain in England and
will now be promoted by MPI to its UK members.
Chief executive of the MIA, Jane Evans,
describes the agreement between the two associations “a major step forward for
