Jamie Chappell, MD of STR Global, analysts of hotel
performance trends, will deliver the keynote at this year’s Hotel Booking Agents
Association Forum, 10 – 11 September.
The Forum, to be held at Barceló Hinckley Island
Hotel in Leicestershire, will also offer sessions on maximising online presence
in the advent of social networking and on measurement of ROI.
The main debate, ‘RIP the RFP’ will have a panel,
including Ian Leat, Marriott Hotels; Denise Macdonald, IHG; Julian Laxon, Pro-ven
and Trevor Elswood from BSI. They will discuss whether RFPs are a waste of
The Forum anticipates a good attendance from figureheads
from agencies, venues and hotels, both from the UK and internationally, and promises
an opportunity to discuss, debate and define industry trends and best practice.
The association’s annual awards will span four
categories: Training and development; Promoting excellence; Commitment within
the community; and Best environmental practice.
