Good vibrations coming offshore at the AECC

The
Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre hosted the most successful edition
ever of the Offshore Europe 2009 show this September.

The
bi-annual global oil and gas industry event attracted more than 49,000 visitors
from around the world, a 20 per cent rise on 2007. There were also over 1,500
exhibitors, 330 of which were exhibiting for the first time.

“The
record attendance proved that there is still great value in events such as this
if they are well organised,” says 2009 Society of Petroleum Engineers president
and co-chairman of the Offshore Europe Partnership, Leo Roodhart. “It’s also a
clear reflection of the oil and gas industry’s strong appetite to come
together, share knowledge and learn about new and emerging technologies.”

Managing
director of AECC, Brian Horsburgh, is delighted the venue played host to the
event.

“I
spent time talking to exhibitors during the week and it was encouraging to hear
so much positive feedback from companies about the amount of business
conducted, as well as receiving praise for the venue, our staff and indeed the
North-east area as a whole,” he adds.
