£78m Darwin Centre opens its doors

The Natural History Museum’s £78 million landmark structure,
The Darwin Centre, is officially open for events.

Over 400 event bookers and agents attended
the official launch of a venue that boasts a 65 metre long sprayed cocoon
structure- the largest of its kind in Europe.

NHM head of events and catering, Zoë Watts,
says: “There are not many venues in London which can offer an amphitheatre,
landscaped gardens, and a dramatic backdrop all housed in an unusual structure
and with access to all the exhibitions and events spaces the Natural History
Museum has to offer.

“We are already responding to a number of
enquires about the Darwin Centre and have taken our first
bookings.”

The Darwin Centre can cater for up to 150
guests for dinner and up 350 for receptions, and boasts a private gated
entrance.
