Square Mile Monopoly

The EC Collective, a Barbican-led marketing
initiative involving venues within the Square Mile, is to put on a
familiarisation weekend for agents, 18-20 September.

They agents will be split into four teams
and will visit venues, Monopoly-style, to accumulate ‘money’.

They will be able to win or lose money on
‘Chance’ and ‘Community Chest’ cards which will be a mixture of questions on
the venue/surrounding area and activities.

The Barbican’s head of corporate sales,
Anthony Hyde, tells conference-news the
initiative, the second annual fam. trip, is “a fresh and creative way to learn
more about the city”.

The weekend comes at the start of National
Meetings Week and Hyde adds: “The EC Collective’s first year brought together a
host of suppliers within the Square Mile. We are creating our own destination,
capable of competing on the global event industry stage.  As home to some
of the world’s greatest businesses it is entirely fitting that the Square Mile
should be recognised as a leading destination for business events ? the EC
Collective provides that outlet and public façade.”

Members of the EC Collective include: 
The Barbican, Tower Bridge, etc.venues, Apex hotels, The Brewery, Malmaison,
Crowne Plaza, The Mermaid, Guoman The Tower,
Trinity House, Cavendish Conference Centres, and Chartered Accountants Hall.
