Former chairman of Reed Travel Exhibitions, Tom Nutley, is to welcome members of the meeting industry to his new Travel Club, which launches, 29 September, in London’s West End.
The Travel Club will share facilities at 4 St James’s Square with members of the long established Naval and Military Club. It will be members-only and will offer dining and meetings space, the largest room able to accommodate 150 theatre-style.
Nutley tells conference-news: “Having been closely involved with the meetings industry through RTE’s portfolio of meetings events, EIBTM being the main meeting place, The Travel Club would be delighted to welcome members from the meetings industry, not just to join the club and enjoy its facilities, but to consider The Travel Club when organising meetings and events.”
Nutley adds: “Over three years, I have searched central London to find a suitable cost-effective venue, conveniently located in the heart of the world’s most exciting business city, a place to reflect the crucial importance of a growing industry in the UK and globally.”
The Travel Club is charging an annual membership of £895, but is waiving the joining fee of £250 for those that sign up before 25 September.
Club patrons include former shadow minister for sport and tourism Lord Pendry and Secretary General ad interim UN World Tourism Organisation, Taleb Rifai.
