NewcastleGateshead seals two-year NUS event

Destination marketing agency
NewcastleGateshead has announced a double-barrel win.

The Sage Gateshead will be hosting the
National Union of Students’ annual conferences for both 2010 and 2011.

The conference is expected to attract an
estimated 1,500 delegates and 300 other visitors with the first event to be held
in April for three days.

“Sage Gateshead has shown its commitment to education, community and outreach activities,
and the facilities are second to none,” says NUS national president, Wes
Streeting. “I’m sure that our members
will enjoy coming here for the next two years.”

A first for over 20 years, the event will be
hosted outside the North West of the
UK and will bring an estimated
economic impact to the region of £1.3m per conference.
