May Fair to host urban music award nominations

London’s The May Fair Hotel is to host the
British urban music
industry at tonight’s 2009 MOBO Awards Nominations launch.

Confirmed performances for
the evening include the winner of the British national selection for 2009’s Eurovision Song
Contest Jade Ewen and Ex-Factor finalist JLS.

“The MOBO
Awards are delighted to be bringing our event to such an impressive venue,” says
CEO and founder of the MOBO Awards, Kanya King MBE. “Over our 14-year history,
we have hosted our Awards in every prestigious venue in London.”

The Awards
ceremony is being held in Scotland this year and The May Fair’s GM, Charles
Oak, says it’s only fitting to bridge the countrywide gap with a London based nominations
party.

“With
London Fashion Week hot on its heels, we feel incredibly fortunate to have been
chosen to partner with two of the most distinguished events in London’s music and fashion
calendars,” he adds.
