Liverpool scores healthcare hat trick

Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool has announced three major event wins, including The National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) annual conference for 1,500 in 2010.

The NCRI event will take all meeting rooms and 3,725 square metres of exhibition space.

Scientific events manager at NCRI, Sharon Vanloo, says: “We have been looking for something fresh for some time now, both in terms of venue and destination. ACC Liverpool is one of the newest convention centres in the UK and is also one of the few UK-based convention centres that can accommodate our event under one roof; an important consideration. There are also strong ties with oncology in the region, including the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and the Marie Curie hospital.”

The European College of Sport Science (ECSS) will host its 16th annual three-day congress in July 2011 and is targetting 2,500 delegates.

The Roald Dahl Haemostasis and Thrombosis Centre, part of Royal Liverpool University Hospital, completes the hat trick with an event planned for July 2012.
