Expotel to invest into meetings market

Hotel and conference booking agent Expotel is in the market for acquisitions and is looking to grow its business in the meetings market.

It is looking to strengthen its sales and management team in this division by recruiting one or two new key people to the business.

CE Ian Burnley says: “The meetings market is obviously very flat at the moment but our long term growth plans remain in place and we hope to find the right people to add to the team during the autumn.

“We have added some really good new accounts this year and, with our expertise in the hotel market, are able to offer all our customers very good options for their external meetings venues. There are very good rates available at present.

“I would not rule out an acquisition to support our plans in the MICE market,” adds Burnley, “however we are confident that we can grow this business organically by continuing to build our team. We will try and make additions to the team in sales and management roles over the coming months to help us take advantage of the opportunities open to us.”
