East Malling centre opens its doors to the public

East Malling Conference Centre is holding its
annual open day 9 September 2009.

The event will see the launch of new
conference menu’s created by its new
head chef, Werner Neumann. It is an opportunity for those involved in booking,
planning or delivering training courses, meetings and conferences to visit the
centre.

Cassie Luchford, conference centre manager
says: “We have modern facilities with six meeting rooms that can accommodate anything from two
to 200 delegates as well as 200 car parking spaces (plus extensive overflow
parking area) – a real plus for conference organisers who don’t want to have to
worry about whether or not their delegates will all be able to
park.”

Luchford has tripled the conference business
at East Malling, just outside Maidstone, since
taking on the job four years ago, and she believes the appointment of Werner will help to boost the centre’s appeal
still further.

“Werner is a very experienced chef who will
be looking to create a very special menu that will focus on locally-sourced produce and
healthy food. Our conference food will be part of the whole experience instead
of just conveniently splitting the conference into a morning and an afternoon
session.”

The centre grows its own fruit, including
strawberries, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, apples and pears, and will be
including it on the conference menu.
