Conference Cambridge is celebrating record figures for its financial year 2008-2009.
The venue finding service for the University of Cambridge estimated the value of events booked during the year, including residential conferences, one-day training courses and corporate dinners and business meetings, topped £4m for the first time in Conference Cambridge’s 11-year history.
Enquiries over the year totalled 2,484, with website traffic showing the greatest growth from 451 visits per month to 568.
Over the last 12 months, day meetings, dinners and residential conferences have been the top three most popular event types enquired after, according to Conference Cambridge’s manager Kelly Vickers.
“We are finding people want more for their money and so our strengths in terms of flexibility and adding value ensure we continue to win the business.
“We have already taken a number of enquiries for very large events for 2010/2011 which seems to indicate that people are looking beyond the current challenging times to a brighter future”.
Conference Cambridge represents 36 venues.
