The future of event training, learning and development will be the hot topic being explored at a free to attend conference organised by the University of Derby on 26 June at 15Hatfields, on London’s South Bank. A consultative document for the industry is to be published, based on the outcomes of the discussions.
The inaugural event aims to capture the views and opinions of leading experts across the many sectors that comprise the ever-expanding events sector.
“The events Industry today has grown incredibly professional and definitely will remain so. This conference is an opportunity for professionals within the industry to say exactly what they feel the future of CPD (continuing professional development) should be and help influence the way in which the industry meets the needs of customers both nationally and internationally and all of the people who work in it,” says senior events management lecturer, University of Derby Nick Jordan.
‘Taking the Pulse’ will include a number of roundtable sessions for debating issues relating to training, assessment and development within the events industry. These will be collated and fed back to a panel of experts, including Richard Limb of Capita Symonds, Richard John of RJA GB Ltd, Lesley Maltman, chief executive at ABPCO, Tony Rogers, of Eventia and Nick Jordan.
