Newbury Racecourse has launched a menu to celebrate food sourced within 25 miles of the venue.
The seasonal menu will be available for two months in the course’s Hennessy Restaurant.
Key ingredients are sourced from local farms, including crayfish from the local River Kennet, buffalo mozzarella from Laverstoke Park in Hampshire, asparagus from Cobb’s Farm in Hungerford, a Berkshire cheese table and meats sourced from both the Thatcham Butchers in Newbury and Laverstoke Park.
“We’re fortunate enough to have some of the best produce in the country within our local farms and fields,” says head of catering at Newbury Martin Bunch,. “The 25 Mile Menu is a real achievement for us; it capitalises on our commitment to sourcing excellent local, fresh produce without compromising on quality. It also reduces the environmental impact of our catering by reducing our food miles.”
