Forty two per cent of event organisers say they are unsure whether London’s recent investments into the city’s transport network have been integral in attracting conferences and events in London.
The figure is part of the first Destination London report by Excel London, which provides analysis on the current and future trends being witnessed across the London conference and events market.
The views were expressed from 300 event organisers from across the world.
Other key findings from the report were, 78 per cent of respondents believe event catering in London has improved or remained consistent, 58 per cent said they thought the economic climate would have a negative effect on ‘responsible food’ and 75 per cent believe the role London plays on the international stage is significant for the future of events in the city.
Excel London’s James Rees says of the report: “Destination London has underlined the role a destination plays in attracting international events, the importance of investment in support services and infrastructure remains a key priority for event organisers.”
