The London Eye is to upgrade its facilities following a £12.5 million investment.
Merlin Entertainments Group, which owns the Eye, will improve heating and ventilation in the 32 capsules as well as installing ceiling mounted TV screens and better wi-fi.
The company’s divisional director David Sharpe says: “The investment is a clear demonstration of our commitment to upgrade our attractions.
“Investments like these are very important in the leisure and tourism industry in the UK as a whole, especially with the Olympics coming to London in 2012. It is important to remind people of all the exciting things there are to see and do not only in the capital, but the country as a whole.”
The upgrade will begin this summer and be completed by 2012.
