Reed Travel Exhibitions’ CIBTM, (China Incentive Business Travel and Meetings) exhibition has secured the endorsement of the Beijing Tourism Administration (BTA).
The event takes place 8–10 September 2009 at Beijing’s new China National Convention Centre (CNCC).
“We are thrilled that the BTA have backed CIBTM in such a positive way,” says CIBTM exhibition director, Graeme Barnett. “The host city has a crucial role to play in the development of all our IBTM events and with their direct endorsement and support, I fully expect CIBTM to become a driver behind the growth of the meetings industry within Beijing and China.”
The BTA will be using CIBTM as an opportunity to maximise awareness of the Olympic legacy and to enhance the city’s status as a world-class meetings and incentives destination.
BTA’s partnership will add a significant level of resource behind CIBTM, according to RTE, and should enable an enhanced programme of education, experiential and business generating activities both on and off the show floor.
The support should also translate into a broader Hosted Buyer programme and result in the widest ever range of Beijing-based meetings industry suppliers and operators under a Beijing Pavilion.
“We are expecting to make CIBTM a renowned international MICE show and develop Beijing into one of the top MICE destinations in the world.” says deputy director-general of the BTA Xiaoyuan Gu.
