Move sends echoes around Cambridge

The official, free venue-finding service for The University of Cambridge and the Colleges, Conference Cambridge, has moved from its previous base in Downing College into a second-floor suite of rooms overlooking King’s College Chapel on King’s Parade.

The move coincides with the launch of a new online system, ECHO, commissioned by Cambridge Conferences to speed up responses times to venue enquiries. Everything is managed online, so brochures, quotes and extra information are sent straight from the venue to the client’s inbox, says manager of Conference Cambridge, Kelly Vickers. She adds: “2009 has started well for us; we now have one of the best views in Cambridge and are continuing to receive high numbers of enquiries, which indicates that Cambridge still has major pull for all types of events.”

Conference Cambridge represents 36 venues including 28 colleges, as well as University sites, faculty buildings, Cambridge University Press and the Møller Centre.
