Over 700 events industry professionals gathered at Grosvenor House, London, for the Eventia International Awards 2009.
The Outstanding Achievement Award was won by Sarah Webster whose role in the development and success of Eventia led the Board to appoint her the association’s first ever honorary lifetime member.
The Platinum Award was won by Line Up for the global dealer launch of the Volvo XC60. The Volvo event also picked up the Gold Award in three other categories.
Eventia CEO Izania Downie commented: “These awards recognise the best and most innovative internationally-based events in our industry. It was refreshing to see such a healthy mix of new and established companies entering this year’s Awards and the high quality of entries really impressed me. Our expert panel of judges followed a stringent process.”
World Events, having made the short-list in several categories finally cracked it by winning Agency of the Year.
The charity prize draw raised £5,773 to be donated to The Elizabeth Foundation, a UK-based Home Learning Programme for families with deaf children.
