Trade shows cancelled following terror attacks

Following the devastating terror attacks on the city of Mumbai, United Business Media has been forced to cancel two of its main trade events in the country.

P-MEC India and CPhI India 2008 were due to take place at Mumbai’s Bombay Exhibition Centre between 27 and 30 November.

“Due to the continued current adverse security situation in Mumbai, CPhI India and P-MEC India exhibitions have been postponed to 2009. The new dates and venue will be announced as soon as possible. This decision has been taken in consultation with the industry and local authorities in the interest of the safety and security of visitors and exhibitors alike,” says a spokesman for UBM, the parent company of organiser CMPi India.

The two shows cater for the pharmaceutical sector.
