The Meetings Industry Association (MIA) has appointed five new co-opted council members.
Functions and meetings manager for Chartered Accountants’ Hall, London, Ed Bolling is taking on New Member Development and, GM for Conferences and Events at the University of Birmingham, Julie Zacaroli will be responsible for Events Planning.
The other co-opted members of council are Woodland Grange’s David Vaughton, who will be working with Ed Bolling and Gary Payne, Director of One Great George Street, London, who will be joining the Standards and Principles Committee. MD of Edinburgh Training Centre, Mike Glaire, will be responsible for membership development in Scotland.
Nick Milne, MIA Council Chairman, said: “I’ve been delighted by the enthusiastic response to our call to join Council by these members.
“My other colleagues on Council and I are looking forward to working with them and are confident that they will make very positive contributions”
VisitBritain is encouraging all meetings venues in England to become accredited under the MIA’s Accreditation In Meetings (AIM) scheme when it becomes available to non-members in January 2009.
